The existing layout felt closed off and limited, so the design centered around replacing the peninsula with a welcoming eat-in island that improves both workflow and gathering space.

• One of the project's biggest design challenges was working around the uniquely angled window above the sink. While unusual window shapes can complicate cabinet layouts and sightlines, thoughtful planning allowed us to create a balanced, functional design that makes the most of the natural light.

• Storage was also a priority, leading to the addition of a corner pantry that helps keep everyday essentials organized and accessible.

• Personal touches throughout the space make it uniquely theirs, including built-in dog bowls for a beloved four-legged family member and a bold patterned backsplash that adds character and visual interest.

• Beyond the kitchen, the fireplace was refreshed to better complement the new design, creating a cohesive look throughout the living space.

• The original kitchen offered plenty of cabinetry and countertop space, but the layout wasn't making the most of the room.
